Don't Call It a Conversion...

The socks are done, and now I see the light about why sock knitting is so addictive for some folks! The look and fit is great, and now I simply never want to be without hand-knitted wool stockings swaddling my feet!

Thank goodness for Elann and KnitPicks, so that there is affordable sock yarn out there. Otherwise, this has the potential to turn into a rather expensive habit...

I am totally with you on the sock thing. I wouldn't have gone back to knitting if it hadn't been for the search for the elusive perfect wool sock.

I finished my 159th pair in the last week. Started in 2001, yes I must be a little obsessive to have kept a list since then. I don't count other things, just sock pairs... makes me happy!!!

Congrats on the socks. Here's to many more!

Glad your first sock project was so satisfying.

I just gave a pair of handknit socks to a friend for xmas, and explained to him that the heel would fit him better than his commercially made socks and tried to describe why. He listened politely, but clearly wasn't interested.

His thank you note has asked me to explain again about the custom heel on his socks, because he wants to wear nothing but that kind of heel ever again.
